Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) has been implemented by GLRA India as a cross cutting theme across its mandates of Leprosy, TB and Disability. We highlight below certain interventions matching our mandates.
Tibetan Refugee Health Care Project in India, Prevention andPromotive Project with special emphasis on Water Supply, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) with Leprosy and TB Control
The European Union funded project for WASH, Leprosy and TB Control in the Tibetan Refugee Settlements was implemented from 2000 to 2003.
The objectives of the project were as follows:
• Improvement of sanitation and water supply by providing toilets, septic tanks and other sanitation facilities along with construction of water tanks and drinking water facilities
• Supply of Medical Equipment like X-ray Machines
• Refresher and Specialised Training of Basic Health Staff and Community Health Workers.
• Health Awareness Programmes on Leprosy and TB
